The 8th Roundtable of the Baltic Sea Region Climate Dialogue Platform took place on the 5th June 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia, back-to-back with the 9th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
The meeting discussed the recent developments of the Climate Policy and Frameworks in the Baltic Sea Region and in the European Union. Mrs Elena Visnar Malinovska, Head of the Adaptation Unit of DG Clima introduced the ongoing process of evaluation of the EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change and the future of a post-2020 Europe, where 25% of the budget is foreseen to support an increased mainstreaming of climate action.
The Secretariat introduced the developments of climate cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region and the successful initiatives such as the Baltic Sea Future, the flagship projects and upcoming events.
In particular, new updates about ongoing projects were introduced by the managers.
SUMBA is focusing on sustainable urban transport and supports decision-makers and planners to develop strategic plans for multimodal transport systems. Presentation here.
EFFECT4buildings works with energy efficiency and is developing a toolbox for properly adopting energy-saving measures. Presentation here.
IWater recently concluded, developed tools and guidelines for integrated stormwater management. The project adapted the Green Area Factor (GAF) to different countries and cities and helped to combine green and grey infrastructure in more efficient ways. Presentation here.
