ONLY Member State nationals are eligible for the internship scholarship award of 8000 SEK per month.
The CBSS Secretariat offers internship opportunities to new university graduates with an academic background in a field related to the CBSS activities (i.a. political or social sciences, economics or international law, anthropology, cultural studies, gender studies, sustainable development, public health & social policy and geography). A specific interest in policies and cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region is required. The CBSS internship programme is not connected with employment opportunities.
1. Number and lengths of internship periods
In 2012 it has not been decided whether there will be internship vacancies in any particular field. The usual periods are of six months and four months (January to June and September to December).
2. Financial, Administrative and Insurance conditions
Travel and living costs in Stockholm must be met by the interns. Applicants may apply for a scholarship from the Secretariat by using the Scholarship application form to be sent together with the Internship application.
Interns that do not have a resident status in Sweden must make sure that they fulfill all the legal requirements and are in the possession of a relevant residence permit and / or visa upon arrival as specified by Swedish law pertaining to foreigners.
Interns are required to check with the relevant authorities as to what is needed beforehand. The documents need to be given to the administration upon arrival. Interns must also ensure they have the appropriate insurance cover during their stay in Stockholm.
Interns will be placed under the responsibility of a supervisor. They will need to respect the working hours, organisation and general rules of the CBSS Secretariat. They will also need to respect the confidentiality of the information brought to their attention during their internship within the CBSS.
