On 26-27 September 2005, the BSR INTERREG III B project Baltic Euroregional Network (BEN) was officially launched with the first meeting of BEN Steering Committee and the Starting Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania. Both events were hosted by the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania (Lead Partner of BEN) and one of projects partners - the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.
The Steering Committee of the project consists of representatives from all partners of the BEN, including the Council of the Baltic Sea States
A new project developed by the BEN network, called Creative Across Borders (CAB), has been developed but has not yet been given funding.The main objective of the project is to increase the capacity of border regions in the Baltic Sea Region in development of innovativeness of creative industries for social-economic growth of their territories, especially focusing on possibilities to enhance the growth of tourism industry. The project includes 17 partners from the whole Baltic Sea Region, representing Pan-Baltic organizations, border regions, cross-border structures, organizations of creative industries, non-governmental organizations among others. The lead partner of the project is a Finnish development company, Lappeenranta Innovation Ltd. For more information about the project please contact Katja Keinanen

This project is cross-sectoral and will mainly focus its work between the priority areas of Economic Development and Culture.
