One of the main priority fields for the CBSS which has been most affected by the reform process is the field of economic development. The steering body – the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) is currently in the process of investigating the viability of new expert bodies in line with the reform. At present three Member States are sponsoring different proposals. Each Member State will convene an expert workshop in order to assess the objectives, timeframe, composition and political interest in the subject matter concerned. The three proposals are as follows -
Germany: Expert Group on Maritime Industries.
Lithuania: Expert Group on Technology Transfer Facilitation
Poland: Expert Group on Small and Medium Sized Family-owned business
Another Expert Group on Maritime Policy (EGMP) has already been decided upon and is in the process of appointing expert representatives from both governmental and non governmental organisations.
The CBSS is also pleased to be a part of the Baltic Sea Labour Network (BSLN) project. The project was awarded funding in the first call of the EU Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 and more information can be found by clicking the above panel.
The Working Group on Customs Cooperation and Border Crossing Aspects continues its work as before as does our close cooperation with our Strategic Partners.
