BALTADAPT

The Baltic Sea Region Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (BALTADAPT) is a project that seeks to provide joint transnational solutions to address the sustainable management of the Baltic Sea in the context of climate change. There are good experiences of adaptation in the region both at national and regional level but they are fragmented. The project will aim at preparing a climate change adaptation strategy for the whole Baltic Sea Region, as called for by the action plan accompanying the EU Baltic Sea Region Strategy.

Lead Partner is the Danish Meteorological Institute. The project has 11 partners from Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany and Finland.

The project has been approved for funding in the 3rd call of the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013- The kick-off meeting was held in Roskilde, Denmark on 10th-12th January 2011.
