Baltic TRAM meets in Kaunas

On 13 – 14 September 2017, Baltic TRAM project partners met in Kaunas in order to discuss the project implementation. Most of the discussions revolved around the first project results to be presented during the Baltic TRAM Mid-Term Conference “Analytical Research for Industry – Novel Options for Enhanced Cooperation” scheduled on 25 – 26 October 2017 to take place in Stockholm at the helm of the CBSS Swedish Presidency. Likewise, special attention was dedicated to the operational aspects of business enquiry procession by the Baltic TRAM Evaluation Committee and the network of Industrial Research Centres (IReCs) in relation to the upcoming closure of the Baltic TRAM first open call.

CBSS Secretariat thanked contributors to the BSR Policy Briefing 4/2017 “National innovation and smart specialisation governance in the Baltic Sea region: Laying grounds for an enhanced macro-regional science-business cooperation” and highlighted the future research plans tailored to explore in greater detail the role of smart specialisation in Baltic TRAM´s science-business cooperation.

The Kaunas meeting was of special importance not solely because of the forthcoming conference, but also due to the recent high-level endorsement expressed in the 26th Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference´s Resolution: “continue to support the efforts in building closer ties between analytical research institutions and businesses in the framework of the Baltic TRAM (Transnational Research Access in the Macro-region) project.”
