The CBSS Civil Protection Network Senior Experts Meeting, hosted by the Estonian Rescue Board, was held on 25 – 26 February 2015 in Tallinn. The CSO Chair, Ambassador Raul Mälk, presented priorities of the Estonian Presidency in the CBSS and summarized the results it has achieved so far. Janusz Gąciarz, Senior Adviser at the CBSS Secretariat, provided the participants with an overview of current activities of the CBSS in the area of civil security. Julia Fredriksson, Senior Adviser at Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) presented the state of play regarding PA Secure´s position in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).
Representatives of relevant agencies from all the CBSS Member States carried out overviews of the state of cooperation in the area of civil protection in the Baltic Sea Region, and shared information on plans regarding different types of multilateral, bilateral and national exercises to be conducted in 2015 in their respective countries. The participants were acquainted with the activities of two projects: From Gaps To Caps (Risk Management Capability Based on Gaps Identification) and BaltPrevResilience (Baltic everyday accidents, disaster Prevention and Resilience).
The preliminary agenda for the CBSS Director’s General Meeting in Tallinn, 2 – 3 June 2015, has been agreed on.
In memory of a dear colleague Jevgeni Jutkevitš (forth from the left) who passed away in March 2016.
Jevgeni has given a huge input into the international cooperation of the Estonian Rescue Board.
