The theme of the 5th Baltic Sea Area Cultural Heritage Forum is “The Changing Coastal and Maritime Culture” and it is a platform for discussing the historical and modern directions for the development of coastal and maritime culture, the problems and possibilities of heritage preservation as well as the policy and practice of states in solving those issues.
The Forum starts with a plenary session on 18 September and is followed by four parallel sessions on 19 September and a choice of thematic excursions on 20 September.
A welcome reception in the evening of the first day takes place in the newly renovated Tallinn Seaplane Harbour, winner of the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards – Grand Prix 2013, that accommodates the Estonian Maritime Museum.
